Introduction to

Adrian Alexis
Adam Larson
Todd Milne
&
Perimeter Sound Arts

the Masters of Spokane Washington's
Electronic Underground Music scene.

This feature article has been pretty special to me because I had the opportunity to actually meet in person and work with all three of the artists live while I was visiting in the Spokane area  this past couple months.  After hearing about Todd and Adrian, I was finally able to meet up with Todd and Adrian a number of weeks prior to this issue at a local coffee house, the Mercury Cafe.
December 23rd saw a number of people playing music and listening in at a CD release party at the Mercury Cafe of which I attended. Todd and Adam played live music from a new compilation, Transmissions from the Perimeter Vol.2. This CD is ambient- trance music from inland northwest artists. In addition, the First Annual World Music Summit CD, which was recorded live at the Metropolitan in Spokane featuring Jim Boyd, Celtic Knots, and MALIDOMA! was released. Only a few members of MALIDOMA! showed up to perform off this release, however the sounds of their drums brought a true cultural experience to the crowd. Thanks again to Mercury owners Marcus and [the christ boy] Chris for the great evening of food, drink, music and merriment.
Mr. Milne's label, Perimeter Sound Arts, located in Spokane, works with a number of genres in bringing their music to the public. One such band is Moth, Adam Larson's solo project. Adam is also half of Earthwyrm with Todd Milne. Adrian Alexis is also on Perimeter Sound Arts and has a new release coming out this year with the label. I was very pleased to have been able to work on an interview in person with Adrian at his home this past week.
I have found all three of these featured artists are very talented in the many facets of the business from creating their own music in their studios to producing and marketing themselves.  Most importantly, I found them to be quite devoted to the music they love and the elements in their lives that inspire them to continue working with it.  I hope you enjoy reading about these fine people and their music in review.
    Sincerely.
