Q : where bouts in cali r you guys?

A : Sucramento

Q : how was practice

A : Hot and wet.

Q : how many people will be playing live?

A : Well, right now it's 4 + some severly lightened backing tracks, but we might still be adding another guitarist.

Q : will you be touring with scar tissue then?

A : Yes, in July we're doing three weeks across the US plus Canada as well.

Q : Where are you planning to stop in Canada? (or do you know yet?)

A : Kingston, Ottowa, montreal

Q : will your tour lists be posted on your site or the 21st circuitry site or both?

A : Both + Scar Tissue's site as well. Bring your undies to our shows! We want undies! we want clean socks!

Q : anna: do you use any distortion on your vocals? if so, what?

A : Yes, on the cd we used the Digitech rp-10 exclusively for vocal processing, but on stage we use an RP-5(erie) and a Boss SE-70(anna)

Q : you both have equal parts in creating the music, right?

A : Yes, that is correct. Although Erie writes the lyrics.

Q : what part did Xorcist play in the disrepair cd ? you have a thank you to him on your cover.

A : Oh, he gave us some advice on a service bureau for Corel Draw when we were doing the cover.

Q : Tony Roberts does drums on the Disrepair cd: is he doing other work with bands? if so, who? will he be on the upcoming tour?

A : Tony is our live drummer. The drums on the cd are programmed entirely by Anna and Erie. Tony does help out any bands that he can though. No, he will not be on the tour, he couldn't get the time off. Erie will be playing a full sit down kit while singing.

Q : what do you use for drum machines?

A : We sample all of our drums and sequence those samples. The sound is much larger that way. On stage we use an Alesis D4, but other than that we don't use any at all.

Q : yeah....but what samples are u using....

A : I sample from the D4 sometimes, from sound cd's sometimes, from our garage door sometimes, it depends on the song.

Q : what is the d4....?

A : It's basically a rack-mount drum machine without a drum sequencer in it.

Q : hey .. what's yer fav D4 sound?

A : D4? I like the Blaster kick actually.

Q : Erie: what song on the disrepair cd is your fav?

A : Darker Times

Q : Anna: when did you start singing? any professional lessons?

A : None. Anna started singing seriously about 3 years ago.

Q : you have a night club in/near scaramento? would you like to throw in a *plug* for it here ? (name address etc?)

A : Yeah, Biomech is in Sucramento on Folsom Blvd. We just topped out at 417 people the other night (a new record.)

Q : will you be using recorded material on tour live?

A : We were planning on doing everything completely live this time, but our equipment isn't letting us, so we'll be using very minimal backing tracks. Actually we're using cd's.

Q : what sampler are u using?

A : For the cd we used an EPS and an EPS 16+, but we picked up an ESI-32 with 32 megs right after we finished the album.

Q : who did the music for Noxxul?

A : Anna did Noxxul for the most part, Erie helped with production and programming.

Q : will Feist be on tour with you? and Israel?

A : Yes, that's the rest of the line up. Feist will be playing bass and guitar (not at the same time) and Israel on keyboards.

Q : what inspires you to write your lyrics? anything in particular? they seem pretty dark...

A : The lyrics are inspired by life in general. That's pretty fucking dark as it is. A lot of the songs are taken from stories that Erie writes about a world he's invented in his head. Plus he's been divorced, that helps.

Q : do u take tapes?

Q : can you give us a list of your live gear?

A : We'd love to show off. Israel plays an Ensoniq SQ-80 controlling a Roland JV-880 and Ensoniq EPS. Erie plays a full drum kit (triggers under the heads) with 12 pads from an Alesis D4 through a Digitech 256XL. Anna plays a cheap left handed bass through a digitech RP-1 and sings through a Boss se-70. Erie sings through a Digitech rp-5. Feist plays a metal-god guitar through a digitech rp-10 and bass through a Trace Elliot 350rahsmx

Q : what brand of bass would that be?

A : The shitty one? Feist plays an Ibanez and Anna plays something we've filed the name off of. Ibanez old X-series bass. We personally like to use sound, I don't give a shit where it comes from.

Q : so when does the tour start?

A : July 12th in Salt Lake City Woohoo! Yeah, we'll be roasting some bigomists after the show. Ha!

Q : describe the sound..to someone whos not heard it.

A : Male and female lead vocals with a balanced electronics/guitars mix. Very percussive, and very aggressive (female vox are not wafty or gothic at all, very mean.)

Q : how do you get that little *ticking* sound in Locusts? drum kit?

A : That was a loop off a record of a Skold remix of a Nature song run through "Grunge" distortion. If that's the sound I think you're refering to.

Q : are you two alternating typing, or who is typing?

A : Erie's typing. Anna and Feist are dictating.

Q : do you guys go on irc often?

A : Not much, actually this is about time # 3

Q : how long have you been playing music? each of you? writing?

A : Erie, 14 years. Anna 3 years. Feist, 9 years. Israel, 5 years.

Q : ok stupid qiestion but what the fuck does luxt mean? was it lust and someone was drunk when writing it or...

A : It has to do with the balance of dark and light. It's got a lot of weird background but nothing really exciting.

Q : thats cool..is it like old religious stuff?

A : Old religious stuff? Some of it has to do with symbols and their meanings, but nothing clinging to any religions.

Q : are any of you vegetarians?

A : Vegitarians? Anna only eats chicken, fish and cat. But the rest of the band like their meat red and raw!!! Well how can you tell which ones taste good if you don't test them? S= specially P= processed A= animal M= meat

Q : whats the ages of everyone?

A : Erie = 27, Anna = 26, Feist = 23, Israel = 21 (still in diapers) (especially when drunk)

Q : Who has fucked who in the band?

A : Erie fucks Israel and Feist before each show. Anna just rips the genitalia off of everyone we encounter. It's the only meat she really likes.

Q : anyone go to church?

A : Only with a truck load of lions. Lions 7. Chritians 0. We're keeping score! Christians. ONly the best for our cats.

Q : any other hobbies besides fucking and killin xtians?

A : Practicing. Practicing. Having relationship problems. Practicing.

Q : Do xtians make their own gravy in water?

A : If the heat is kept low.

Anna and Feist are going out for a cigarette, so Erie will be answering questions while the nic-up.

Q : ok, Erie: do you use makeup on stage? or do you always look so evil?

A : I only look more evil in the morning. Maybe we should play early? No, no makeup.

Q : what music do you listen to when you arent listening to yourselves?

A : Well, we run a club so we get to hear a list way too long to print here every week. But lately I've been listening to the new depeche mode, lots of Acumen, AC\DC and the new Unit:187.

Q : have you ever played live with acumen? met them?

A : Yeah, I caught them at the DNA last year. They fucking rock.

Q : Ask acumen to open for you?

A : OPEN FOR US? More like, "please, can we open for you?"

Q : Do you have any key influences?

A : Key influences. Yeah, (this will piss people off) as for industrial - Lords of Acid, KMFDM and yes, call them industrial or not, White Zombie. Erie likes Depeche Mode because they're so satanically delicious. Well, that last album sucked donkeys, but they're still great.
