13 MG The night started off with the usual sound checks where 13 MG played one song which definitely captivated my attention! The Warehouse has a great PA system, stereophonics and excellent acoustics. They played four songs off their new release Eternicate, which just kicked, as well as many other songs from previous releases. All five members were in great form that night as guitars wailed, drumming was incredible, and vocals were quite audible (what a nice change...). I have never seen 13 MG live before this show, and I am glad I finally got a chance to see them live. They were very tight, put on a nice show, had great stage presence (quite professional) and they were very friendly to chat with as well. Overall, they are well worth going out to see live, and do purchase their new CD [eternicate] if you can. Their music has a rich lively sound, danceable, moving, and hard hitting. The guitars [which I am not usually fond of in electro blends of music] were not over bearing, yet enhanced the electro side of their music. The drumming was tastefully done and in perfect synk to the rest of the band. You can actually *follow* the melodies in their new tracks on Eternacate, a *must listen to* for those of you who like a more upbeat-hard blend of metalish organo-elektro crunching. |
