The night began with Mindless Faith pounding
out a set of dancy industrial/EBM-ish electronics to the tune of Jasin on vocals and
guitars, Chris Sevanick on keyboards, backing vocals and percussion, Paul Green on
Electric Drums and Violin, and Corey Appleby on visuals. Mindless Faith is from Pittsburg
Pennsylvania and came on tour to support their release, "The Silence". I enjoyed
hearing them play because there was never a dull moment, and the music was presented in a
professional manner and the sound was great.
Backspace
The next band up was Backspace with members consisting of Marc Church on keyboards, Peter
Kornblum on vocals, keys and Dave on keys, drums and backup vocals. Steve Butkowski was
mixing. Backspace played songs off their debut release: "Clockwork Pathogen" and
they played pretty much the entire CD. They were supporting Decoded Feedback, but Decoded
cancelled due to lack of audience. The club never really had an industrial type show there
before, so it wasn't something the locals were used to having perform there or attending,
ie. industrial acts. Backspace however played a great set of industrial dance, and a few
people actually did get up and hit the dance floor. Backspace was very intense, passionate
about their music, and kind to us. Watch for them in the future on tour, hopefully with
Haujobb in Detroit Michigan. |
