Rage Against the Machine, Wu-Tang Clan, Atari Teenage Riot
August 8, 1997
Coral Sky Ampitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL

The concert was originally scheduled for Saturday night, but since Queensryche was playing on Sunday, they pushed the Rage bill back one day.
It was hell driving to the show, as the traffic backed us up causing the whole car ride of people to miss Atari and the majority of Wu-Tang. The ampitheatre was this:packed. It made the Lollapalooza show look like a club crowd. At least 25,000 people were there, and there was barely any space to move down below. As we ran out of the car, we got to hear the last bit of a Wu-Tang track. We new they left when we saw all the Wu Fans walk out of the park. When we finally reached our seats, Rage appeared.
The backdrop consisted of anti-political images and an upside down flag. The sound quality was excellent throughout the whole park. If you were up front, you could glance back and see all of the people staring down on you. But without any delay, Rage took the stage. They had a DAT tape rolling in the intro, which was an anthem with messages being spoken in it. Zack and crew came out following it and took the stage with "People Of The Sun." Out of all my concert experiences, I would have to say that this was the most rowdiest concert I have ever been to. If you have not seen Rage yet, you are missing out on a rush. They *know* how to get the crowd up and moving. The mosh pit was very out of control, as a few fights broke out, 100 seats were ripped out, and ankles and arms were broken. Everyone was jumping around, screaming their heads off, and just having a great time. Other songs that were played in the set were Killing In The Name, Bulls On Parade, Darkness, Know Your Enemy, Bombtrack, Tire Me (the best song of the night), Revolver, and a KRS-One cover song. They also played other songs off of their 2 releases, and closed with "Freedom." At the top of the hill. it looked like Woodstock 2 all over again. Due to early rain, the filed was covered in mud and people took it to their advantage to create their own mosh/mud pit. The results ended in cuts, scrapes, broken noses, and mud. Wu-Tang Clan has dropped out of the tour and is being replace by the Foo Fighters. Be sure to catch Rage if you haven't yet, and watch out for a new Wu-Tang tour in 1998.
