Last Edit/Update
14 March, 2001
Last Sigh Magazine/Last Sigh Press is an educational music research publication
dedicated to research and documentation the International Underground Sub-culture
music in the form of a web based and upcoming print publication(s),
CD compilations and hard copy books.
The means by which we document is with reviews, photography, interviews with the artists
and labels, and research relative to the music genres of Ambient, Electronica,
Experimental, Gothic, Industrial, Noise, Neo-Classical, Drum & Bass, World, Electronic
Body Music, Intelligent Dance Music, GOA-Psy-Trance, and/or blends thereof.
A part of the music and our research reflects social, economic, religious, scientific,
sound,
environmental, political and/or apocalyptic issues either lyrically, philosophically,
or within the sound/music created by the artists. The music is created with computers,
software, synthesizers, tape recorders, other inanimate objects and/or
"non-post industrial" organic/natural instruments, or living things.
Last Sigh Magazine is based in Kalamazoo Michigan, United States. It is edited and
managed by, Ms.
Kim A. Alexander and Senior Editor by Mr. Greg
Zobel.
Last Sigh is sponsored and supported by waste.org, hypodermic.net and various labels,
bands, advisors, writers, fans and
contributors from around the world.
A brief History of Last Sigh
Last Sigh Magazine was created in 1995 as the brainchild of Kim Ann Alexander as a
means by which to document the sub-cultural music scene and to share these items
past and present with the world.
Last Sigh went public via the World Wide Web in 1996 at Waste.org
who graciously gave us access and web space.
During 1997-98, Michael C. Lund helped to further develope the concept and content.
Mr. Lund retired from Last Sigh in October, 1998.
In 1999 Mr. Greg Zobel took on the position of Senior Editor U.S.A.
Many talented people share their time, skills and knowledge of the internet,
the hard and the software, the music, research, and writing at Last Sigh.
We thank you all, for without you, Last Sigh wouldn't have evolved to its current state.
In December, 1999, Daniel & Justice (at) Hypodermic.net
kindly gave us a domain server
and web space for lastsigh.com, our current home and final resting place on the WWW.
Over the years, Last Sigh has undergone some major digital facelifts since our inception.
There are still some remnants of the first pages we created on the site,
of which we have left intact as part of our historical html content.
