A Different Kind Of Cop has a yummy sound
influenced by bands such as Front 242, Skinny Puppy, Babyland and KMFDM
-- this demo tape idolizes the best in industrial with thought provoking samples, choral
interludes interrupted by reverberating synth drums, bleeps and other tasty percussion
that will keep you listening attentively for what surprising sounds might come next.
The first track is a very high
energy piece with really great electronic sounds and interesting melodic backdrops that
interject with harsh lyrics -- "Peel back your skin...let the bleeding begin..."
Track two begins with a sweet
melody of the Skinny Puppy type...with vocals that are a bit on the Ogre-esque
side and a well driven hard beat inbetween eerie symphonic-choral vocals and eventuates
into track 3 and progresses to an ending with a man sampled as saying:
"10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-zero Ignition ....Liftoff.....bleeeeep."
A scary more quiet and slower
beginning to this track, Anger Is My Friend evokes a mental picture of some
skinny archaeologist wandering down a dark path inside a pyramid in Egypt until some dark
force wisks him away such as with the strong 4:4 beat of drums and clanking noises/more
angry vocals that interject themselves and entice you to turn up the volume! The
background here is another Puppyish melody clone with expansive soundscapes,
mechanistic machine-gun reverb drums and samples -- good dance track!
This tape should be in everyone's
collection who enjoys the sounds and bands mentioned above.
