Biofeedback, an upcoming band out
of the North East United States creates the sound of dark elektronic/industrial/medieval
undertones that bring forth a new sound in the domain of underground music. The songs on
this demo tape carve out a unique listening pleasure from the samples and keyboards
Biofeedback blends with a relatively nice flow of dark synth sounds and full expansive
elektro melodies.
He Becomes Me is a
wonderfully good dance tune with interesting lyrics/vocals (get it out on CD guys!). This
song should be in a DJ's collection. In Our Time has strong synth drum beats, and
vocals that twist your imagination, a real delight for the industrial enthusiast. Track 3,
(all I've) Spent, begins with a soft touch of melodramatic harmony coupled with a
mechanical sound of fused beats that captures my attention holistically. Void of lyrics,
this piece is re-edited on the B side of this demo with the same wavy minimal movements of
a gentle elecktronic ocean in motion. Track 4 is a very sweet piece of music, Something
less than nothing-cold dub remix by UTN, is definitely a piece to *chill out to*,
reminding me of FSOL and The Orb. This track is really quite yummy. (Somebody sign these
guys will you?).
The
B side of this demo is again very good. Starting off with the edit of (all I've) Spent
is interjected with that medieval melody that gives the song a darker sound. Track 2, Something
Less Than Nothing-dignity remix by Wilk is faster, more upbeat and definitely a good
dance tune blended with some powerful undertones and samples of maniacal laughter. Once
Ceased, Track 3 Side B is a nice flowing piece that articulates a mellow sound across
borders of mechanical injections of fused mechanical sounds and vocals clearly understood,
another good dance tune.
Hollow Terms begins with a
softer sound incorporating dark melody and see-saw reverberations creating a smooth
departure from previous songs. To The Front, the final track on this B-side demo
from Biofeedback is a more trance/upbeat in tempo with more dark undertones adding to the
diversity of this demo Tape.
Overall, I find Biofeedback to be
an interesting and much welcome change in the realm of Elektro/Industrial/Darkwave music. |
