One of the newest additions to Blacklight Records' small but growing catalogue is this sixteen band compilation, instalment two in the three part Cataclysm Singles. There is a good mix of bands here, and although Blacklight only have three signed to their name they manage to get through the lengthy disk without any repeats, touting an impressive lineup of underground talent.
There definitely seems to be a theme with this series of compilations; the gradual shift of human civilization into a more technological landscape. This brand of electronic music falls right in with the theme. The bands all seem to flow through similar veins of dark electro, and although this is the first I've heard from many of them it's a strong introduction.
