What else do you need? Personally, I've rarely been disappointed with
ANYTHING Coil has released and this is no exception. I think one of the most briliant
things ever done was releasing songs for each season.
Last weekend as i was driving bac from NYC, after the C93 show, I
was unfortunate enough to catch the peak of a nasty snowstorm. My car weighs
about 100lbs, my CV joint axle were bad, there was about 5 unplowed inches on the ground,
and it was comming down so thick I couldn't see 20ft in front of my car. I put North on,
and all I could do was smile. The usual 20min trip took
me over and hour and a half, and yet... North was such a pleasant walk
through.
White Rainbow opens up the album with an odd ditty with William Breeze,
as well as the rest of Coil chanting. North and Magnetic North are rather similar elecric
drones that somehow... sound cold to me. The real moment on this cd is the last cut,
Christmas is Now Drawing Near. Rose Mcdowall sing on this, and if you've ever heard Rose,
you can ALMOST imagine how godly this track is.
I'm going to start reviewing each of Coil's seasons as they begin to
roll around again. I hope you didn't miss any, as each new season begins the last album is
deleted from the catalog. In otherwords, catch this before the end of the month.
