Duality marks a most serious event in the darker realms of Philippe Fichot's work and human nature itself. The hauntingly beautiful vocals of Elaine P maneuver a classical mode through the powerful beats and electro timbre expressed. Viola and Violin are used often, accentuating the drama by Franck Dematteis on nine tracks of the thirteen listed.
The music is set with lyrics which expound on loss, pain, reference to being alone and feeling caged, as referenced in the cover data, graphics and track titles such as "The Hidden Cage," "Lonely Heart," "Love is Cold" and "The Missing Beauty."
The sounds on Duality created by Philippe taps into the vein of the universal human drama of love, loss, and life. Sounds vary from classical, symphonic, electro, darkwave and techno-edge with blended orchestration of diverse sequencing, melodies, manipulations, and synth-phonics on several tracks.
Especially beautiful is track one "Invisible World," a deeply moving piece, acapella, slow, sensuous, which stirs within me the loss of my very good friend recently to spacial separation, yet also brings back his memory at the same time -- a sense of timelessness envelops me as I float along with his vision in my mind and the music playing in the background.
Duality is a must have for all Die Form enthusiasts. If you have never heard Die Form, this release presents a fine example of the diversity, power, and emotionally moving work by Philippe Fichot and Elaine P.
