For those who have not heard Loop Guru yet, you are missing out. Fans of Delerium, Deep Forest, Orb (Orbus Terrarum era), and Banco De Gaia will definitely enjoy what the Loops have to offer in their new mail order CD, Catalogue Of Desires.
Although I am clueless to what happened to Volumes 1 and 2, Volume 3 is a toned-down mello ambient album made with the Loops' trademark global culture instruments and chants. The cd contains 20 tracks of pure bliss and ambience. From the opening nature into from "Ritual Cluster" to the more beat-orientated "Almost," the Loops melt every song together to have one long track into heaven. One will also find Pop Will Eat Itself's "Home" sampled in "Almost." PWEI is also credited on the album for making a guest appearance along with other musicians. Unlike Loop Guru's 1996 release, "Amrita," the new CD is not upbeat at all by any means. This is an excursion into a new realm that the band discovered. You may have seen them play live last year when Meat Beat Manifesto took them out on tour, if not, needless to say you missed out. This is 100% excellent ambient quality brought to you by the Loops.
Loop Guru's Catalogue of Desires Vol. 3 can be purchased at World Domination Recordings by mail order, e-mail, or voice mail.
