Ambient contemporary instrumental with a healthy dose of experimental is what makes Origins a foundation for future creation.  Origins has many sounds to investigate for those of you who might be attention challenged, however we're not talking about hard core industrial, or EBM/IDM or pure electronica.  This is more of the type of sounds termed, "World" music. The music is diverse enough that your parents would probably enjoy the softness of the guitar, the purring of the percussion, and the gently flowing rhythms and melodies that abound.  There is an exotic feel to a few tracks with instruments used such as the gong, bells, and tribal drumming.
"The Traveller Searches" is really quite beautiful in that it is mantric in terms of the continual percussion and guitar work blended with the melody that captures my sense of wanderlust and inner travel.
Todd is pretty much an accomplished musician when it comes to working with wind instruments, which can be heard in "Dolphin" and his guitar genius comes out in "Another Mountain Song."
Birds are singing, an ancient flute calls to them sweetly. Thunder rolls in the distance. Picture yourself there, in the rainforest, awaiting the break of sun through the mist. This is "Elf Leaf".  A wonderful track with which to meditate.
"After August", the bells!  The Bells!! Quazimoto would be proud. (That was from Jay).  "I Was Just Dreaming" is quite experimental with metal (chimes), gong, and reverberation of those materials layered over sparce distant vocals and so is "Aboriganies of Another Cognition" with violin (Todd) and various assorted ethnic percussion instruments, (rain stick, cow bells, castanets, drums), and never a dull moment.
"Li Er" is a dronal flute piece, gentle and warm.  Overall an ingenius and honest piece of work you'll never grow tired from hearing.
