Orifice Track Listing Dubbed "Psycho-Pop", Kelly Kreep announces her sonic presence with Gollywoggle, a dark and mysterious (fuzzy at times) electronic and acoustic guitar laden, drum surfing influenced release which brings forth a creative and interesting sound with Kelly's hauntingly provocative vocals, lyrics and keyboards. Orifice seems to cover a variety of sounds, ranging from the Pop scene from the mid 80s to the more heavy guitar rock coupled with a touch of the gothic-morbidity sounds of the 90s. Quite an interesting overall combination, as in Sickle, where the bass l2 string is prevalent, drums and guitar are in perfect sync with Kelly's singing. Most tracks are very much so melodic and have a good deal of harmony, with the vocals and guitar in unison, yet they tend to lead on their own at times, bringing out a nice style worth checking out. If you enjoy the "Sub-Pop-Goth" sounds of the underground you might want to check this band out and buy this release. |
