Track Listing Chris Connelly is probably best known for his vocals on Ministry's 1989 album "The Mind is a Terrible Thing To Taste", as well as the subsequent tour. This collaboration later led to him becoming one of the founding members of the legendary Pigface in 1990. Seldom does he get the recognition that he deserves for his solo work, however, and with albums like these under his belt I have no idea why. "Phenobarb Bambalam" is nothing new, in fact it's one of his earliest records. This disk is basically rock music without any useless gimmicks. Some of the edgier tracks like "Ignition Times Four" and "Dirtbox Tennessee" I recognize from older Pigface tours. Connelly's lyrics are very poetic and meaningful, and he injects a lot of personality into his songs. I think a lot of people's expectations of this music, including my own at first, were influenced by his Ministry stint. This is totally misleading though, and to save yourself from any unnecessary disappointment keep this in mind. |
