Sabot extend themselves on Sabo with a curious blend of warm acoustic and electric guitars, the sensuous vocals of Monika Baenninger, Christine Zufferey, and Shawn Marquis, drums, bass keyboards, "tooties" and soprano saxophone. The music is dark, rich and organic -- intense in a somber and gentle way, bordering more on the gothic and the somewhat on the more ritual side of "darkwave" music and lyrics.
Hailing from the Boston Massachusetts area, Sabot brings some of the best in female vocals, guitar riffs and keyboard piano, mixed with graveyard music undertones -- creating a most "unsettling" virtuoso even Satan would be happy to hear if he could get his hot hands on it. Slow, melodic harmonics drift through the tracks while guitars "sing" their way throughout with keyboards and the melancholic, dark yet eerily joyful vocals/lyrics.
Haunting, uncompromising avant-goth music, Sabot is for listeners more interested in the shadowy graceful grave music of the 90s. Excellent addition to the genre.
