Since their inception in 1990, Fun'Da'Mental has proven to be an outspoken and extreme vehicle for voicing commentary on racial, political, and social change. There isn't a single line of lyrics that don't fit this description in one way or another. Their incisive politics examine these topics with the intent of confrontation. You can't listen to this disk without the issues raised sparking a great deal of thought, and whether you're in agreement or not is irrelevant, at least their grassroots message of strength and solidarity is being conveyed. Their lyrics are spoken with such conviction that it's obvious they were culled from experience, and the messages are further intensified with samples from media, talk shows, phone messages, and political speeches that link their struggle to real life scenarios. If you don't appreciate intelligent revolutionary lyrics then "Seize the Time" will probably be an overbearing listen. Their more recent release "With Intent to Pervert the Cause of Injustice" is a collection of instrumental remixes from "Seize", adding more musical depth to the tracks that would appeal to those less fond of the lyrics. But in their own words, "if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."
