Jeanne Fahey -- Vocals
Michael Watson -- Keyboards

Spindle Shanks is an incredible work of dark richly textured, well orchestrated, soft yet intense soundscape of Neo-Gothic based music. Keyboards are full, ominous and threatening, carving deep into a sense of timeless symphony. Jeanne Fahey's "breathtaking nightmare" vocals are serious and haunting yet not so Gothic in origin that you get depressed hearing them -- quite beautiful in fact. The overall sound of this release is "dream-like" with a gentle and softly twisted fairy tale kind of atmosphere.
Michael Watson obviously knows his keyboard wizardry as he accompanies Jeanne to perfection with melodic drones and drifts, swirling orchestal movements, and the touch of raw piano as well.
Overall this is a wonderful release -- soft, provocative, synthbased-orchestral movements and excellent female vocals. The songs are actually SONGS, melodic, harmonic -- outstanding! If you enjoy the more sweet and gentle side of dark ethereal music, this is the band for you. Spindle Shanks is not to be missed. One of the best CDs in this genre in my collection.
