Track one Inside This Zoo brings forth a mello electronic sound of bass and
guitar mixed with some piano and memories of a more stable movement in the sound of Daniel
Triana's repetoire.
Blue Angels is a bit more
hard in sound with a more driving approach in this track. I especially like the vocals on
this track which are treated, scratchy of sorts and coupled with that steady beat of synth
drumming and intermittent relaxed drifts of solo drum behind a slower melody of keys and
fx.
One More Kiss is in fact a
sensuous piece of music with a deep bass drum, harmonic melody and vocals/lyrics that send
me off to a warm beach and a naked body next to me.
Flows and Glides is yet
another softer tune with a harmonic background of melody and vocals and more strong synth
drummings. It's faster in beat to keep you interested. I especially like the
synth-mospheric work in this piece.
You Deny Me comes across
as a more minimal piece with cymbol and synth interwined and vocals that hauntingly remind
me of some long ago lover wanting me to call on the phone...
Spirit Dance does in fact
have the beat to dance coupled with synth drums to keep you moving in that direction on
the dance floor...
Inside Of Me is a fast
paced piece, poppy keys in the background and the unrelentless drive of good drumming.
"Like gentle notes through the sky, you name, your sound, fills me with
fear....".
Burning Bright a deeply
provoking song: "Burning Bright is my enemy, life unexpectedly keeps grabbing me...My
urges need to implode, my head can't bow down, my brain needs to explode, so ideas can
finally be laid down." Peaceful yet disturbing, this song is dark, and
mysteriously brought together with flowing drifts of Daniels vocals and excellent
electro-waves drifting within the track.
Burning Bright (remixed: Angel)
continues the burning with a deeply moving piece, dark, ambiently sweet in soundscapes and
driven to the depths of electro-passion.
The next seven pieces are void of
vocals -- Unknown Pleasures 01-04 lead into three more high energy dance techno
tracks. All three tracks: Saturno, Groove Tubes, and Rotating Acid Peaks
are overall excellent works for listening to dance.
Overall this cd is a diverse piece of
works by Daniel Triana that won't let you down in either quality, quanity or interest.
This cd brings you the dance side of Triana, in contrast to his more ambient works in Musica Electronica.
