TUU, an English Trio, is Fathom
Records newest signed band. The sounds of TUU are those of "drum rhythms, layered
keyboards, exotic Asian flutes and seductive drones" (Fathom promo material).
Mesh is a wonderful
ambient piece of music integrating indiginous instruments as an oftentimes main component
with spacious undertones of electronics flowing gently in the background. This cd is a
perfect way to escape the modern hustle of society and drift into a relaxing drama of
peace and harmony.
Turkish ney flutes along with
dramatic synths are the onset of the cd in Crack Between The Worlds. Clay pot
rhythms, whirling flutes and quiet synths mark the sounds of Migration, a perfect
combination to enhance the movement of both animal and sound in their most graceful
moments -- ending in hauntingly beautiful flute harmonics. In Four Pilars,
layered synths tend to flow and ebb like soft ocean waves on a calm moonlit night, and
Tibetan bells interject with their peaceful resonance.
I recommend Mesh to the
discerning listener in ethereal-ambient music. It's an excellent piece of sound artistry.
