Voivod is for the most part on this CD dark hard core metal-edge thrash..screaming treated vocals, grinding guitars, clearn percussion with tidbits of experimental synth inbetween evil voice and rock beats which seems to sum up Phobos.  I'm not even sure what bands run in this vein, as I am not an avid listener to this type of music, but people who know this band think they are very good for what they do.  The sound seems to be pretty well managed, opening up usually each track with electro-synth programming and then falling into a metal-edge sound with dark evil harsh vocals and quite a bit of screaming accompanied with blaring guitars and speed percussion.
If Voivod dropped the guitars down by 90%, the Black Sabboth or (Great White) evil thrash vocals and eerie drops in timbre, they could probably produce some pretty kick ass experimental electro as they obviously have the know how and talent to do so.  But then they wouldn't be Voivod !
This is a great CD for those of you who enjoy the angsty metal edge hard core electro/guitar thing with a gentle touch of synth. GET IT!  And Head Bang until the wee hours of the morning with friends!
