OF
D'Cückoo
The Vortex: Quantum Gate II
"The Vortex is a seductive mix of
African and Middle Eastern rhythms, pygmy chants, state-of-the-art sampling, and exotic
percussion.
This historic release is the first
feature-length soundtrack created expressly for the
new interactive CD-ROM medium. Composed,
produced and engineered by Candice Pacheco of
D'Cückoo, this soundtrack is the musical
equivalent of the interactive sci-fi thriller The
Vortex, Quantum Gate II."

Candice Pacheco.
If her name isn't readily available in your CD collection, what are you waiting for?
Whether you are a fan of underground music, or a musician yourself, the work of Candice
Pacheco would be nothing less than an excellent addition to your CD
shelves. She is an amazing artist! After my first listen to the very professional
production, composition and content of The Vortex, I knew immediately Candice
is serious and passionate about her work. She is "a composer, musician, engineer and
inventor who co-founded D'Cückoo, the techno-tribal multimedia band and is recognized
internationally for pioneering electronic music technology and interactive preformance
art." --RGB Press Data.
The sounds on this release are engaging
for the listener, proactive if you take time to purchase it and put it on the player,
reactive when you hear it. You can then drift off into other cultures with her use of
exotic instruments and vocals with origins from the "Dark Continent" of Africa
and the Middle East. Fast paced, high energy, electronic, excellent production
and precise composition, diverse and creative -- this is The Vortex. Moreover, this
CD is excellent dance music! If you are a DJ for a club, most tracks on this CD will fill
the dance floor. I personally would play it at an "underground
industrial-rave-techno-tribal" night, it's THAT good, as it leans to the
techno-tribal edge. I don't think anyone would grumble about it, they'd probably be
dancing to it, or sitting back chilling to the beat.
Candice Pacheco is
obviously a genius in her talent with her creations of music, her working
knowledge of the technology, and her production abilities. Most impressive!. She would be
a very good candidate for a remix CD by artists like Scar Tissue,
Download, The Orb, FSOL, Not Breathing and Autechre... Hey you guys, give her a
call? :) Better yet, pick up this release and give it a listen to. You won't regret it.
(The percussion and sound quality is INCREDIBLE!) Play it loud, play it often!
