Once again Apoptygma Berzerk puts yet another excellent release with
"Welcome To Earth". This release is based in Intelligent Dance-Electronic Body
music. Stephen Groth puts out some of the finest industrial-edge dance music on the
market, one of the better bands on Metropolis Records to date for this type of music, in
my opinion.
"Welcome To Earth" is beat heavy, rhythmic and melodic, the
vocals are soft at times and clear. Groth however has taken Apoptygma in a slightly
different direction, synth-pop combined with trance, has now emerged in their repertoire.
Radio and club DJs could take full charge of the dancefloor with this release. It's beaty,
fresh, melodic and addictive. There are a couple tracks that are quieter, slower and less
dancy that combine electronic blurps and bleeps, vocals and strange twisted
electro-manipulations.
Excellent release! Apop will be on tour [tenatively] in the USA this
year in late summer/fall. I'll be there.
