Biopsy is the side project of Guilherme Pires and Fabricio Viscardi of
Aghast View. "Third Stroke" is the Brazilian duos third outing as Biopsy.
The first two, "Nervate" and "Cervix State Sequences" are also
available on DSBP.
"Leech" instantly launches into the contagious techno beats
that flavor the best tracks on the CD. Fabricios distorted vocals enhance the
onslaught of metal guitars and riotous beats found on "Why Bother." "Body
Wire," which is remixed twice here, is probably the most addictive track with its
unstoppable beats, droning, pulsing loops, and sampled declaration "I want to
dance!"
Another high point is "Peel The Core." Its urgent
primal beats are overlain with machine gun guitar riffs and fuzzy, manipulated vocals and
loops.
"Third Stroke" is electronic industrial at its highest
peak, combining the best of the dance floor with the finest grinding guitar and
disinterred vocal entreaties. With "Third Stroke," Biopsy balances the
razor-sharp cutting edge aggressiveness that their name suggests, with an alluring
addictive slice of club candy. |
