Contagion formed in 1988 as the group Biohazard PCB. After many successful independent
releases, the group signed with World Domination - a development division of Capitol
Records. With the group's first official commercial release Contaminant
PCB in 1992, and North American tours in 1992 (Front Line Assembly) and 1993 -
Contagion established itself as a powerful presence in the industrial genre. Contagion has
appeared on 4 motion picture soundtracks and released over 15 international compilations
and singles since 1992. Contagion also provided the soundtrack to the banned controversial
Playstation CD-ROM - Thrill Kill, as well as the upcoming CD-ROM "Metal Fatigue"
from Psygnosis / Activision. -- Contagion Web

On the forefront of Industrial dancecore, Contagion once again brings
us a new re-release with Infectant. Keith Arem, accomplished songwriter,
producer and composer slaps us down with nine explosive tracks on this double
"Special Edition". The music herein is mainly industrial dance with [some] power
guitar, driving militant beats, industrial synth and angry yet sometimes pleading vocals.
Topics in lyrics are many, which include the reconcilable differences
of the human condition including: fear [and my dreams], exquisite pain [inside], hate
[kills the mind], sin [gives me peace], [blind] allegiance, [that love that turns to]
rage, and [swallow the] truth. But that isn't all you get with this special edition,
there's much more.
The interactive multimedia bonus CDRom included with this package is
fabulous ! You can access video takes of Keith, four to be exact, on the topics of:
"Since Contaminant", "On The Set with the 'Hate Video'",
"Inspiration for "Infectant", and Origins of "Hate" which was a
film called "Sinner". Other goodies on this CDRom include photos from the
"Hate Video" and behind the scenes during its recording, lyrics to eight of the
tracks on "Infectant", and music tracks to "Money" [1990], "Again
and Again" [1994], "Seeds of Pain" [1998], "Rekoil" [1999] and a
remix of "Pain" [1999]. This CDR is an excellent addition to the release.
I'd say if you are a fan of Contagion, you need this release as much as
Keith Arem is busy producing the numerous projects he has going on with film score,
writing, and producing [which is very prolific]. If you haven't heard Contagion, I'd
suggest you order this release at their website [see link above]. "Infectant" is
a huge testament that Keith Arem is deeply involved in his music, his fans and his
personal growth. If you haven't heard music by Contagion, this release will certainly set
you straight with some of the best industrial music to date.
