You can't go wrong with this release. It's fabulous. Noise, rhythms, power beats, twisted vocals and sampling, percussion/drums and bass, drones and ambient/noise. It's all here on "Exoskeleton 2" with many of the best bands in the electro-noise power assult scene. The range of bands is fairly broad in terms of the music they create. Scott Beebee (Holocaust Theory, SaVaK, Possessive Blindfold], has compiled a good amount of the best in "power electronics, dark industrial, cold ambient, and demented drum n’ bass".
Some of the tracks are actually very dancy and make me want to get up out of the chair and dance until I drop. Some of them are so noisy all you can do is sit back in awe and wonder what it would sound like in a large theatre with an incredibly good PA system while imaging your ears have blood dripping from them. Many of the tracks use varied beats in conjunction with electronic snippits: deep bassy banging, growling rumbles, raspy sawing,
Pretty much the music is very tight and precise. Beats range from slower drawn out tribal-like rhythms to techno-edge bpm's -- some with background harmony/melody and some with noise drone. Most of the tracks are really powerful in beat, 'in your face' intense noise or both. Obviously these artists know what they're doing with their machines. Anyone who says it doesn't take any talent to create this stuff is just plain blind, deaf and dumb. This isn't the type of music your parents are going to tolerate for long extended periods of time. I recommend listening to this release with headphones, especially if you live with people who aren't very accepting of your tastes in this type music.
Labels that contributed their bands tracks to this release are:
Ant Zen [Telepherique, Converter, Hypnoskull, P.A.L.], Hands in Germany [eisengrau *aftgerthefireworkdswhenitgetsrealitwillbehell, Winterkalte, NKVD], Possessive Blindfold [SaVaK, Dryft, Stin Scatzor, Horse Penis Pants, Blink Twice, ZymOziZ], Malignant/Black Plague [Cazzodio]. All others independent.
