This compilation begins with Hyperdex-1-sect's track "Mind" (empirion mix) that flows with a driving beat, drum and rumbling bass, sonic insertions of moving wavey synth-noise and treated (not-offensive) vocals that fit the overal Industrial EBM-edge music. Track 2 by Clock DVA is an exclusive mix of one of their more famous works: "Sound Mirror", a minimal drum and bass/synth beat work with commentary "This is your glass of darkness...." released in 1990 on "Buried Dreams" by Wax Trax.  If you don't have any Clock DVA, get some soon.

Zodiac kicks hard with "Chiba", opening the track with what sounds like a hot rod car continuing to drive by, maybe a few machine gun sounds, drum and bass cranking out the beats, and this long haunting vocal that makes me envision the person falling into a deep well or off a cliff, while I am watching it all unfold. Great track ! Omni- with "Peak Level" is an unrelenting techno-edge bassy dance beat of pure electronica swirling from highs to lows. DJ's and folks at a rave would like this one I think...

Tyrophex 14 is considerably slower than the previous track with "Void", again drum and *heavy deep* bass with synth layers, meeps and beeps whereas Electro Assassin adds a melodic industrial-edge track with "Dreamweb" that indeed can carry the listener off to a distant place in the mind. Attrition on the other hand, stand alone on this compilation with "Acid Tongue", a soft and eloquent darkwave-gothic work with violin, synth, minimal bassline beat.

Things tend to pick up with Interact's "(A)scene of Man" involving a speedy double (militant) beat of drums, semi-drawn out guitar (or guitar sounds), male vocals lightly treated. It's a great industrial track with which one can dance. The next track, Sheep On Drugs' "Digital Toilet Mix" is actually very good dance industrial and reflects that rolling backbeat and vocals SOD are known to use. As of this writing, I believe SOD is no longer together. Lee Frazier is now Bagman on Invisible Records. SOD RIP.

The final track by Module, "Trans-lunar Injection" is a slower fairly ambient-drone structured piece. It is smooth, has samples of a man talking about the "separation of the module" from the space ship, synth effects and a "deep space" feel to it.

"Hardware" is a good all around compiliation that brings out a diverse amount of artists and sounds for the descriminating listener. I recommend it strongly for the 'industrial' music fan.
