Maenad mixes atmospheric with experimental music to create a rather moody minimalist progression. It has soft synths and percussion in the background, with spoken words in the foreground that are only partially intelligible. I can understand what sounds to be a pyschological interview. This EP is a nice introduction to this band, if a little strange at times. This album would be nice to listen to with the lights out and noone at home, as it creates a nice spooky atmosphere. I eagerly await Maenad's first release. |
