This Tribute is much different from the other Invisible
Tribute to Ministry "Another
Prick in The Wall". Gone are selections with slammer head banging rhythms
and speed-metal edge guitar riffs, industrial rock-core, harsh vocals and screaming.
Instead, this release brings forth more electronic experimental / drum&bassy / folksy
/ ambient / funky / darker types of music for the most part. Meg Lee Chin
who also appears on the second Tribute album created a slow curvey deep bassy work on
"Scarecrow". Pig's track "Just Like You" has
drum&bass with high pitches of synth, vocals are deep and eerie. TRS-80
uses the same synth-pop and drum beats as the original and treated vocals, tasty
track!
Here also uses drum&bass and includes a rather
synth-pop beat layered over a guitar melody on "Lay Lady Lay", written by Bob
Dylan. This track is really smooth and warm. "Effigy" by Hate
Dept has a melody line, very subdued overall, drums, piano and chorus. Lead
vocals by Seibold? "The Angel" by Julian Beeston sounds like
pure electronica [gothic] dance or G-Electronic Body Music if you will. Mazona with her
excellent vocals combined with treated male vocals brings out harmonies in the melody
lines. Excellent dance track. "Tonight We Murder" by The Hardcore
Cadaverdog is a beaty blend of synth work, percussion, electronic tweeks and
blurps and spooky vocals [Curse Mackey of Evil Mothers helped on this one].
The CD picks up speed somewhat with Eco-Hed's
"The Isle of Man", a semi-funky beat of electro-industrial dance, synth fx and
more twisted vocals, "...we get what we deserve...". "Burning Inside"
by Deathride 69 is another good industrial-dance track, highly charged,
unrelenting beats. Slowing down a little with "Say You're Sorry", Meathead
leaves no mercy with guitar and bass&drums on this track. No need to say you're sorry
either! Slow heavy drifting rhythm and beats dominate this track.
On a lighter note, Trust Obey vs Paved In Skin
combines jazzy yet semi-funky beats with a synth [gothic edge] melody and short stops
inbetween with drums with lyrics/vocals. Another good dance track. Ending the release with
Not Breathing in "Crash and Burn", an instrumental, Dave
Wright's knob fondling wizardry once again proves to be a tasty delight. Funky noise beats
and fx with a background of deep bass is sure to drive your roommate out of the apartment
on any given day/night. |
