For starters, Ocosi is one Paul Molyneux from England. He has worked with the likes of Simon JS aka Mothboy, Mick Harris, Kanal, Su8m3rg3d, and various other artists in the field of drum & bass groove heavy sounds. He is recently on the Economi$ed CD on Economy Records and has been producing and creating music since the early 1990s. A true treat, Ocosi sent me this yet unreleased material from his archives. It's a tempting blend of drum & bass -- full of back beats, deep atmospherics and twisted ambient synthscapes.
This material showcases Ocosi's perfection in his manuevering of beats and programming synths reflected in the changing tempo's, timbre and soft yet rolling grooves. There is however track 8 "seep" which is more in the spooky dark flowing ambient genre. "seep" reflects his work with the project Writhe, another yet more unreleased works by Paul Molyneux which reinforces his ability to master various sounds in crossing these genres. The entire release was created at TASK Studios in England solely by Paul on "programming, fuck-ups and abuse." What a beautiful fuck-up!
