This is one of those "collectors" CDs I think. It's acid tab
psychedelic phat beaty, groovy rhythmic songs by none other than Genesis P. Orridge and
friends during the "beat years", 1988-1994. What were they tripping on?
There are samples of Timothy Leary giving
a speech, samples of what sounds like a crazy paranoid ranting off in Sir Francis E. Dec "mad worldwide living frankenstein computerized dot concocted deadly
new world wide gangster computer god in the synthetic sky plastic surgery frankenstein
slave a meanace to your worldwide mad computer god controlled worse mongrel i hand you the
secret to save the human race and the entire universe electric shock flashlights the
threshold brainwash radio deadly frankenstein controls deadly ganster police deadly assult
team in my yard ! maximum security insanity prisons wall to wall deadly ganster protection
! " or something like that... and a father talking to a little girl with a
placating voice like Mr. Rogers about taking a trip as an astronaut. There are a number of
great dance tracks here, acid techno beats and waves of electronic synth melodies. One of
my favourite tracks is "Your Body" where a woman is saying repeatedly "Why
didn't you just enjoy your own fucking body?"...
The release is obviously about drugs...the inside booklet has
articles by Francis Pinkieknicker "Teach Yourself To
Jack The Tab" -- an introduction to this volume of the series; "Dusty Angels, On
The Road with Psychic TV" by "Coyote" Tom Hallewell;
and commentary about the Volume Too by Genesis P.O. There are
a couple photos taken by Carl Abrahamsson of Genesis and Mista Luv aka: Luv Bass back in 1988 NYCity.
The release Origin Of The Species Vol. 1 dubbed "Jack The
Tab", 'Original UK Acid Dance Freakbeats'... and so hails nearly the same heavy
sounds as on this release. There are lots of phat beats here that make it quite difficult
to remain sitting when you hear it. I enjoy listening to Origin Too any time it's that
good. Especially good when cooking a meal! Not a downer, but a definite upper -- highly
recommended. |
