"Seij minus
aÇ", an experimental musician from Tokyo, Japan, has created some of the most
extreme electronic music I have heard to date with Less Physical Vortex. Sounds on
this release reflect the title and bear witness to an exhaustive blend of chaotic beats,
melodic mayhem and post-industrial noise. The entire release is as intense and unforgiving
as are the lyrics, vocals, and his website:"...thin, cold, vague, no more tolerlance,
nothing is hated, high, dry, laid instinct floats, nothing is hated" -- Coldly
Recognized Aestetics: "undermining integrity w/no tenderness, bitter flow of the
universe, killing time because it was lucified, distorted, sharpened by the virginal
sense..." Vanish. [Take caution when visiting hAj's website.
You need java script and CSS to view it properly, more genuis work.] In addition to the
intensity of his aural and visual art, hAj's vocals are quite reminescent
of the dark, evil, raspy vocals of Ogre in Skinny Puppy.
The music on this release is very complex with a convoluted quality of frequent changes,
noisy installations and various intermittent short waves and bursts of power percussion
and beats. This is not easy music to follow (which in my opinion is a good thing), however
a few tracks do have some dramatic melody and reliable rhythms, but nonetheless they are
still very intense and extremely volatile experimentia. Less Physical Vortex is
indeed one of the best power noise industrial releases I have heard. Obviously, if you
enjoy Skinny Puppy [hAj makes Puppy sound like child's play], you'll crave more of the
work from Seij minus aÇ in the future. If you are a musician or a fan of
this type of music, I suggest that you email hAj and ask him for a copy of this release.
He obviously knows what he is doing, and does it with unwavering professionalism,
knowledge of the machines he uses and direct intent on creating some very twisted sound. Less
Physical Vortex is an excellent release. All serious power noise industrial fans
should not miss this dramatic piece of work.
