SMP is Jason
Bazinet (programming, vocals and additional drums), Sean Ivy (vocals, guitars and
programming) and Matt Sharifi (drums). Their brand of digital hardcore on
"Terminal" is reminiscent of early nineties raves, in that it is intensely
danceable with addictive hooks and crafted lyrics.
"Pictures of You," is a driving, amped-up cover of Oingo
Boingo, which is easily one of the better tracks on this CD. "September"
features hip-hop style rapping over riveting industrial rhythms and textures-it's a
well-executed combination.
"Anthem" is a drum driven rant seemingly about the media's
perpetuation of violence in youth. "Go get your gun" is shouted repeatedly and
interspersed with sirens and slicing guitar riffs. "Necron 99" is also notable
for its narrative lyrics, they speak of despair devastation, but are poetic in a way not
often found in this genre.
