What a tasty blend of dark intense
aggro-industrial/EBM! This Swiss duo, Ken Gubler and Oliver Jäggi have created an
incredible release of power with Fear Forms Function ! It's an aggressive sound
yet has the dark melodic background and processed vocals that are sure to conjure up some
scary mental pictures. This is elektro at its best! Deep bass lines, interesting guitar
samples, excellent sequencing and mezmerising rhythms are sure to please fans of this
compelling blend of genres. FFF gives evidence to support the fact that good EMB still
exists after other successful attempts by bands like XMTP, Evils Toy, Leaether Strip, FLA,
Aghast View and Abscess.
This release reminds me in part of some of the Yelworc material, which
in my opinion is a compliment. The music on FFF is great for club play, DJ's and just
listening at home doing whatever pleases you at the time. It has excellent beats, an
"evil edge", speedy industrial, a few slower and more melodic tracks and great
dance rhythms. Each track has something different to offer in terms of composition, sound,
overall rhythms and incorporates incredible female vocals by Chandra Brandenberger
on Les Nuits Secrets, an excellent track. If you haven't heard System der Dinge
and tire of the same old industrial/EBM bands, order this release now. I doubt you will be
disappointed ! Thank you TommyT for bringing System der Dinge to the USA.
About System der Dinge from their web site:
Since the release of their first demo tape in 1992 the two band members
Ken Gubler (27) and Oliver Jäggi (29) have followed their way and developed their own
style. Beside the highly noticed tape "Das zweite Gesicht" the band appeared on
several CD compilations. Their sound creates an intense fusion of modern electronic sounds
and rhythms with classic elements of Dark Electro. The aim of the band is to create
contemporary music without following too much modern trends.
