Belgian composer Vidna Obmana joins ambient forces with American guitarist Jeff Pearce to explore new territory while reinforcing past conquests of both artists in "True Stories". Just as the title suggests, each track is thematic and short, compared to classic ambient pieces, exploring contrasting emotions and theories of light and dark.
Reminiscent of Eno with touches of Vangelis, distinct emotions are fully realized through the course of "True Stories". Each track calls upon the listener's own imagination to carry him or her to a dreamscape with a plot - as the artists put it, like a book, with development, drama, and progression from track to track. Wonderfully cinematic, this is more than accomplished works. "True Stories" creates perfect varying moods for both passive and active listening.
