A psychedelic experimental
compilation from Texas, on Uncle Buzz Records with cover art that typifies the
[experimental / space rock] music a little more than expected. I had no idea what to
expect with this CD, and to tell you the truth I'm a little confused as to what I actually
found out when I listened to it. Some of the bands have all the fixings to be playing
regular rock music, but either a strange Texan phenomena unknown to me or just something
in the drinking water down south has warped it all into what they call "psychedel-
experimental" music. I suppose the actual name of the CD, "Acid Ranch
2000", sheds some light on what's actually behind these songs. The majority of the 17
bands on this disk pick up instruments and pour their heart and souls into what they call
"spacerock" music. Not to be taken completely seriously, of course, but don't
for a second doubt that some of it's not actually good. If you're into experimental music,
then there's some crazy stuff here waiting for you.
