Most people would consider this release noisey garbage. For the most part, it's void of any real melody or conventional structure(s). However, the opening track "Disruptor" is a strong and powerful piece of "music". There seems to be three parts to this track. An introduction if you will, a climax, and the ride downhill to the finish. The first five minutes of this track is a minimal sound collage of deep eerie rumbling drone moving in and out of timbre with fading spirals of a reverb loop. Three minutes into this drone a bit of synthphonics begin to appear, and the entire piece picks up in intensity with a bassy background drone. Nearly five minutes into the track, a light synth beat begins and is layered over the synthphonic drone. Then at 5:45 mins., the power-noise percussion begins. This part of the track is just incredible! It's fast with offbeat tinklings of metal on metal with bass synth sounds following the speed beats of noise crash and power gurgling samples. At around 13 minutes, the crashing percussion ebbs with back beat drumming and what I think is a vox or some machine that mimics voice, soft and flowing. The drums sound as if the person is in the same room with me, clear and precise. The whole piece comes to a slow halt, fading out slowly. Excellent beats with great noise movements! This CD is worth buying for this track alone! You'd really have to be in shape to dance to this one as it is just over 15 minutes in length.
A powerfully dark and extremely diverse release, Blink Twice has created rich deep atmospheric drones in "On Dark Theories" [hissing, hydraulics and whirring]. A taste of the exotic can be envisioned in "Search For Truth 1 And 2" with electro-percussion and looped sampled vocals that sounds as if it were influenced by music from the "Dark Continent" or India (ie. tribal in terms of beats). Additionally a minimalist semi-ambient venture of synth and percussion work can be heard in "Fables Of Nights And Skies." The release is not however void of noise, as is heard on Track two, "Demon Haunted World", and a taste of experimental noise [with a militant beat] in "The Envisioning" and "When Deites Reigned" [use of a cello here is fabulous].
