B-Ton-K is Karl K from Bavaria Germany and owner of Daham Recordings, and home to FAV. 2nd Vactor, released in 1999, brings the audience a new source of dark electronic music infused with heavy beats, diversely treated vocals, sampling, noisy melody and a fair amount of dance floor temptation. Changes within tracks move the listener from a comfortable smooth flow of semi-aggro EBM to the harsher more exact sounds of militant industrial.
Tracks stand alone in terms of their uniqueness. There are a great deal of machine-like noises within the release -- percussive hydraulics, slapping metal, bleeps, static, whirring and low drones. The overall forces drive towards strong beats and quite a few changes within individual songs in terms of tempo, beat, harmony/melodies and direction. For those of you who enjoy hearing samples and vocals in the German language, 2nd Vactor presents a few tracks with these qualities, some even seem whimsical in conversation.
The diversity of this release holds my attention in listening to and enjoying the CD on a regular basis. Whether you listen to this release for the aural experience, or on the dance floor, 2nd Vactor is a revival in sound for fans of dark-aggro with a flair towards Electronic Body Music and a healthy dose of post-industrial mayhem.
