Conrad Praetzel Track Listing 1. Waking the Shadows Have you ever been to the Nature Store? Recall what they play in there? If you'd like to re-create your Nature Store shopping experience, this is the disc to lead the way. Outside of the Nature Store, this is probably a prized disc for background music during infomercials and the weather channel while it's posting the temperatures and such. The music is a mixture of sandy middle-eastern, tribal, ethno ambient, and a large dose of pop, I guess, with the synth bass thrown in there and their musical workings. The production quality is good and it seems like the musicians know what they're doing. As the album moves on, it turns into a mixture of new age tribal and 80's adult contemporary minus lyrical vocals. While the track names are generally interesting, the music is very repetitive using similar elements so every track might as well have the same name listing each part one, part two, etc. etc. Not to mention, it's not really dark sounding in the least as the track titles would hint at or suggest. |
