Not much is known about Deplete Coitus and its purpose. Currently residing in the Bay Area of California, Deplete Coitus have little or no experience in music making. If this were to be classified, it would fall under Experiment, but oddly enough, it has also been categorized as Electro-Industrial. This sampler obtained by email, is a taste of what "art of noise" is all about.
The first track begins with garbled noise distorted to create an unusual beat. It sounds as if someone took samples of someone in the bathroom and distorted it with an audio program. The next track is full of distorted ripples with bits of white noise in the background. This track lags on for quite a bit while being broken down with occasional silence. Track three sounds even more broken up. While the others did not have any beat or rhythm, this track has a sort of noisey, harsh rhythm. This is about all the rhythm that could possibly be found on this CD. The fourth track sounds like being inside an electronic beehive. There is not much left to describe it except that the constant beatings are probably from the bee wings. Track five is more of a fun song. I don't know if calling it song is appropriate. Whatever it is has managed to try and make a song out of those old Atari sounds. This is a peculiar and puzzling piece that brings back memories of those days when arcades were popular. Finally, the last track begins as though it were to become a "real" song. With the marching beat and the metal drum, the gloomy synthesizer makes an interesting piece of work onto this repetitious song. There's also a repetitive guitar riff that just keeps going on endlessly until the CD Player reads 00:00.
While not really a fan of Noise or Experimental music, this sampler does contain interesting music. From the way the music is fit with distorted samples to the noisey bits looped together, Deplete Coitus makes the music as messed up as you could possibly imagine. Perhaps that is the purpose, but either way it does show how much experience Deplete Coitus have.
