For those of you who enjoy the more goth-accessible
side of industrial music, you should take this album for a spin. I have to admit, I was
hesitant at first to listen to this CD, as I was never really into Decoded Feedback, and
always thought their music to be too much on the mellow side for me. However, their most
recent CD, their 3rd effort, is a brilliant piece of work, ranging from harsh electro to
more subdued soundscapes...perfect for those of you who like the harder, more pounding
sound of dance floor rhythms, yet also accomodating to listeners who like their industrial
to be a bit more quiet and melodical.
The album starts off with a very dance floor worthy track, entitled
"Breathe," which combines a strong beat with harmonic vocals and excellent
synthwork. The pinnacle of the album is the title track, "Bio-Vital," a song
that is extremely catchy because of the loud beat, haunting melody and incredibly romantic
lyrics. While the music on this album doesn't quite stray too far from typical Decoded
Feedback style, what makes it interesting and likeable is the new approach to sampling and
improved production quality.
For all Decoded Feedback fans, this album will not disappoint you. For
those of you like me, who never really cared one way or another, you will be surprised by
the overall way this album seems to mesh together, and also by its extremely catchy sound.
