Bring out your whips and handcuffs. Time for a spanking! The latest release from this German duo is a double-CD compilation which spans their erotic history. For those of you not familiar with Die Form's music, they meld sexuality and electronics to create a sensual and dark atmosphere to play in. Die Form are: Philippe Phichot on keyboards and Elaine P. on vocals. A perfect bedside CD for those "late nights" with your "significant other." Histories seems to take all of Die Form's albums and put them into one!

The first few songs off the first disc are a welcome treat into the Die Form world. With their use of minimal electronics, they create a sensual and dark mood. A noteable feature on this compilation is that their different styles are not interwined with another. This means that one tracks differs from the next track and so forth so it does not bore the listener with the catch phrase, "more of the same." After halfway into the first disc is the popular club song, Savage Logic Remix. Everytime I go out to a goth/industrial club, I hear this song at least once. There are also others worth mentioning such as, "Bite of God" and "Cantique."

Overall, this is the best Die Form compilation out now. There are other Die Form compilations available, but Histories is the most up-to-date out now. A perfect travel companion for those into dark, electro music. A milestone to start into the Die Form world.
