Lounge lizards gather round because here comes your calling card! Following in their line of DJ-Kicks series, Stud!o K7 brings us the latest DJ-outing from Thievery Corporation. The duo consists of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. Combining their blend of jazz and bossa nova music to the artists they mix, it all comes off as a 90s version of what you might hear in the lobby of Trump Casino. There is some interesting history about the duo. Eric was a co-owner of the Eighteenth Street Lounge in Washington, DC and Rob is a former counter-intelligence expert. That would explain the James Bond-ish theme throughout this album.

First off, we are treated to the sweet sounds of jazzy and bossa nova beats that ever so make you want to jingle your gold medallion. A perfect album to listen to late at night when with a lady friend. A martini in hand would not hurt to compliment the mood. Shaken not stirred, of course! There really is not much to say about this album unless you already heard of these artists. You are just going to be treated to a mellower sound. This entire album can be said as, "the record collection of Thievery Corporation." They mix and scratch and add bits of jazz to this and that. By golly! That rhymed!

One thing that I have always loved about this series, is that the artist(s) would pose in a glamour shot for the cover. Almost like a Mentos commercial ad, but without the candy itself. The CD inserts list the artists they mix as well as their respective labels. Overall, this album would be the perfect party album. It just mellows in amid the background noise of beer chuggers and lip smackers. Although not as long as one would expect, this album does entertain. A compilation by Thievery Corporation for those that are in need of a good time!
