_____
Family of God on this release are:
Adam Peters and Chris Brick with
Chris Lacinak -- Drums
Chris Lovejoy -- Percussion
Chris Wilson -- Bass
Eric Schermerhorn -- Electric Guitar
Jonny Sender -- Bass
Will Sergeant -- Electric Guitar
Dubbed as 'experimental music',
"Family Of God" is a blend of harmonic psychedelic-synthetic pop/ambient-rock.
Will Sergeant (Echo and The Bunnymen), and Iggy Pops former right hand man, Eric
Schermerhorn contribute their guitar talents on "We Are The World." The music is
rich in textures and changes set in an overall electronic base. Don't let the
guitars chase you away from wanting to hear this release, they are very tasty in adding
dimension and depth to the tracks. Likewise, masters of "demented pop music"
(-Paper Magazine), Adam Peters and Chris Brick bring us some pretty twisted musical
psychology and lyrics with "Family Of God," "The brain is fighting, with
itself..."
The most outstanding track for me is #6, "The Observer is
Observed", which is nearly 13 minutes in length, swirling ambient with progressive
percussion. A very nice track, long enough to get a flow with the groove.
Reminescent of the sounds and vocals of the 80s, "We Are The
World", appears to be more of a soft reflection of the music from that past era, yet
is set in the grassroots medium of experimental electronic for the new millenium.
