Writing for Last Sigh gives me the opportunity to hear a lot of self-released albums, most of which are on CD-R. This is usually a cool thing - I get to hear what a lot of independant artists with a little budget are doing to fill their musical passions. Sometimes something comes my way that's quite different. FingerPaint is one of them.
"In The Loop" is, as said before, a self-released CD-R. As the name suggests, it's a collage of many sounds. However, it isn't typical ambience, noise, or loop-based techno. It really is a collage. Tracks range from an almost jazz-type feel to pure ambience and dark noise implementation. Maybe mass amounts of  people are all of a sudden learning how to polish and produce their music. Heh..if so, then I'm not complaining.
The music on "In The Loop" is very well crafted. The majority of it is hefty experimentation that doesn't get boring. The tracks are varied, so the album isn't repetitive. From electronic to organic found sounds, the layers are full and lush. Nice work.
