Dejan Samardzic
Daniel Meier

"Ninety-nine" is probably one of the *least* liked Haujobb releases by their more diehard fans in the history of Haujobb music. Considered to be the weakest event in their discography, "Ninetynine" indeed isn't what you would expect from the band, considering their more harsh industrial (dance) presented on previous releases. However, the same high quality of work expected by Haujobb does exist with this release, it's just of a different nature and direction -- more gentle melody, the use of female vocals serenading us, much more drum & bass movements, and definitely more minimalist overall.
I don't believe this is a *bad* or weak CD perse (maybe for Haujobb it is...), and those of you who have commented as such, perhaps it's time to give it another listen? If you like Daniel Meiers' other side project such as Cleen or Newt, you might also enjoy giving "Ninety-nine" another listen to?
Overall the music is subtle, quiet, minimalist, a little jazzy and ambient, drum, bass, synth-experimental and rather peaceful. Haujobb really went off with this release, but in a new and tasty direction. There are quite a few excellent tracks on "Ninety-nine" for that *laid back* kind of listening.
