Hocico Track Listing 1. Cuando La Maldad Despiert
Hocico's premier release, Odio Bajo El Alma, is a true testament to the future of industrial music coming out of Latin America. This album proves beyond a doubt that the sounds coming from the jungles are the future, and a bright future at that. This album exudes a pure sound that while many have tested before, they perfect, and mold into a very pleasureable auric experience. While the majority of the songs on this album are more slow-tempoed, melody-based pieces, the album still posesses a very hardcore, harsh tone, due in large part to the deep beats and sometimes harsh distortions. The vocals, especially on the track "Beings of Relief," are amazing, and are only reinforced by the excellent beats, sampling and overall sound the song emits. Some songs, such as "Face to Face" and "Temple of Lies" are those which you'd find playing frequently in any club. The overall feel of this album, while not overbearing, is mellow enough to have made me feel somewhat relaxed, yet still very anxious and eager to hear more. If this sounds like something you might enjoy, try ordering through Isotank or Digital Underground: this isn't a release that is too readily available, but it is definitely worth it. |
