"Dark Skies" is the premiere release from Kevorkian Death Cycle, a Southern California band. On this release, the band consists of: Ryan Gribbin, vocals and guitar, Roger Jarvis programming and live keys, Brett Cardimone, drums, Travers Bell, guitar, and Ryan daily, live keys, vocals, and media. As the title of the band implies, Dr. Jack Kevorkian influenced and inspires the band greatly in their work. On this release, the music is mostly harsh dance industrial with a guitar edge. There are elements of melody, chaos, and steady beats. Synth programming abounds on the CD, with twists of sampling and gentle to harsh vocals. Dark Skies is a pretty good first release from Kevorkian Death Cycle. They have a number of tracks on compilations, two notable releases being Dora Blue and There Is No Time (the TINT - 4cd compilation) off RAS DVA.

If you aren't familiar with the Michigan USA resident Dr. Jack Kevorkian, he leads the struggle for the Right To Die With Dignity issues in the past decade by attending to the terminally ill with his expertise in helping them with Physician Assisted Suicide. The 'Right To Die' issue (not favored by Dr. Kevorkian), went to ballot/vote in 1998 but was cut down by the conservative Republican Party in Michigan. Now Dr. Kevorkian leads the struggle in prison.

"A Michigan jury recently convicted Kevorkian, 70, on March 26 of second-degree murder and drug delivery charges in the lethal injection of Thomas Youk, 52, a Lou Gehrig's disease patient. A videotape of the injection was later shown on national television. Kevorkian is serving a 10- to 25-year prison sentence, and has vowed to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court if his request for a new trial is denied." --(Reprinted in part without permission but cited from: The Detroit Free Press, Brian Murphy, 22 May, 1999.)
